Very large statues in welded concrete and resin made by the artist Ndary Lo.

Since 1992, the sculptor Ndary Lo has been researching the use of iron, culminating in his "Hommes qui marchent", long metal silhouettes which, with their slender women with blurred faces and scrap-metal bellies filled with doll's heads, have won him numerous awards. These sculptures, entrusted to the Retour de voyage gallery by the artist's family, are a perfect illustration of the need for us to move forward and discover new horizons. Ndary Lo has always freed himself from the gaze of others, creating in absolute freedom. These walkers are both deeply rooted in the ground and paradoxically never stop moving forward, "movement is the quest for the future, it opens the doors to tomorrow" said the artist in 1998. There is no fragility or vulnerability in her spindly figures; on the contrary, they are strength, dynamism and determination. The Retour De Voyage gallery already exhibited Ndary Lo's work in an exhibition entitled "Noires Silhouettes" in 2017, followed by "Silent Walks" in 2020 and "J'aime les arbres" in 2022. We are delighted to be presenting it again and offering these "walkers" for sale, for the "Walking Man, Standing Woman" exhibition.
