Gabriela Morawetz
Gabriela Morawetz was born in Poland, with journalist parents and a photographer grandparent. She studied engraving, painting and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland and completed internships and stays in Switzerland and Venezuela, then devoted to France and devoted herself to photography since 1990. First prize at 5th international Exhibition of Wroclaw, she was internationally recognized in 2006, when the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas devoted an important retrospective to her. Her work is often exhibited, specially in Poland and Venezuela, the United States, South America, all over Europe, the Middle East, Japan and China, in galleries and Museums. Several catalogues and monographs are representative of her work. Trees often take place in Gabriela's work, as in "the sleeping Self I" where, with a tangle of twigs and branches, they are part of the sleeper's dream. levitation above his bed which inexplicably fills with transparent bubbles. Gabriela trees bring a dreamlike dimension to the "I love trees" exhibition and send us back to the mysteries and magic of forests. Gabriela left us at the end of summer 2023.
