Guan Yuliang

Born in 1957, Guan Yuliang is a professor at the Art Institute of the University of Shenzhen. He is above all one of the most famous artists of China. In the 1990s, Guan Yuliang was renowned for the creation of Guowa, a series of sculptures presented at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, which were the subject of numerous international exhibitions.
Guan Yuliang has more than 30 individual exhibitions worldwide. He has received numerous national and international awards, travelled to more than 30 countries for conferences, exchanges, and the promotion of Chinese culture.
A great fan of Chinese literate painting, he constantly seeks to surpass himself while conducting an austere exploration in the context of contemporary art.
