This photograph was taken by Hans Silvester in the early 1960s, during his stay of more than six months in immersion in the world of the gypsies. There he forged indestructible friendships, and he especially refined his profession as a photographer. If you ask Hans Silvester the secret to make iconic photos, he will always have this answer with his smiling eyes sparkling: "... it takes time...": time to understand people, to take the true and spontaneous image, to be there at the right time and with the right light.. finally, it also takes confidence that men, women, animals, children... are on the image taken for eternity as they are in their daily life, without worrying about the photographer. Living with the gypsies was a revelation for Hans Silvester, it takes time to find what you want...
