This photograph was taken by Hans Silvester in 1962 when Hans and his wife Dora forged very sincere ties with a whole village in southern Calabria and more particularly with this family with the many children gathered on this picture. It is a report by Hans Silvester that is published in a magazine that triggers this relationship: indeed, the report shows without complacency the dilapidated houses of this village, some of which have no running water... This information gives a very bad impression of Rome’s policy towards the "meszzogiorno"! Immediate reaction and triggering of the funds to create a drinking water network in the village feeding every home... and it is since that Hans and Dora were invited for years and it was necessary of course to honor the tables of every house where water flowed thanks to the images of Hans Silvester...
