Denis Brihat passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 96.

A major figure in photography, he is renowned for his hand-turned and hand-colored black-and-white images. His work, on the borderline between photography and printmaking, has influenced several generations of photographers. His patient, meditative, close-to-nature, artisanal approach resonates with today's preoccupations with the relationship with nature, the passage of time, and the work of the hand. Denis Brihat's work, present in numerous museum and private collections, continues to inspire with its simplicity, rigor and poetry.
