This small African mask, coming from the market of Cape Town, was painted by the artist Michel Loeb, for the exhibition "Passeurs de Rêves" at the gallery Retour De Voyage.
He was surrounded by Hans Silvester’s photographs of the Ethiopian scarecrows and the Dan masks of the Max Rouayroux collection.
Michel Loeb’s dream is personal and definitive. He paints chosen objets, which he masks with a multitude of small points and which he turns away.
His creations will populate, immediately and without possibility of return, an imaginary world of which he is the creator.
It is this world imagined that its creations invite us to join, and not only in dreams.
