The sand is parched and sculpted by the wind, like the bark of a tree, on this Camargue beach. Like a great artist, Mother Nature is also a master of color palettes, which our photographer Hans Silvester has not failed to notice and emphasize in his photographs.
Hans Silvester takes us to the heart of the wild Camargue, discovered on his first trip to Provence in the early 60s. Arriving with his Vespa from Lörrach, his hometown in the Black Forest, he settled in the Camargue to live as close to nature as possible. After this initial stay, which gave rise to the first edition of his book “Camargue”, prefaced by Jean Giono, Hans Silvester returned regularly to the Camargue, where he collected thousands of images of nature's beauty. From these photos, taken over several years, Hans carries out a titanic selection process to present us with images of nature's sculptures.
