Artist book Entre-Soleils, Michel Kirch & Shmuel T. Meyer

For this artist’s book, the Renard Pâle Editions have brought together two original photographic works by Michel Kirch, each conceived as a fold-out triptych measuring 60 × 42 cm, printed by the artist himself.

In resonance with these works, Shmuel T. Meyer contributes the poem Entre-Soleils, accompanied by a second text in Hebrew along with its French translation. The publication also includes another text by the author, written in the form of a letter addressed to the publisher.

With luminous erudition, never heavy-handed, Shmuel T. Meyer opens delicate and meaningful gateways into Hebrew culture and the story of origins, offering new ways of inhabiting Michel Kirch’s images.

The entire work is housed in a black leather-covered magnetic box designed as a precious case for this singular book-work imagined by Patricia Dupuy and Bernard Soria.

The Renard Pâle artist’s books bring together the text of a poet or writer with the work of a painter, photographer, visual artist, sculptor, collage artist, fashion designer, or other creator, all presented within a beautifully and ingeniously crafted case.

Patricia Dupuy and Bernard Soria are both the instigators of these remarkable encounters, where artists and writers enter into dialogue, and the creators behind these books that become works of art in their own right, not only through their content, but also through their original physical form.

Each edition is produced in a very limited run, with 30 copies being the maximum, and every copy is numbered and signed by both the writers and the artists.
