Artist Khin Zaw Latt website

Khin Zaw Latt is a painter and sculptor born in Myanmar in 1980, in a village in the Irrawaddy delta. He learned to draw and paint at an early age with his older brother Soe Soe Laputta, a well-known artist. In 1998, he entered the National University of Art and Culture in Rangoon, where he met a young artist, Ohmmar Than, who was to become his wife. From 2005, Khin Zaw Latt continued his studies and organized exhibitions in Thailand, Hong Kong, the United States, France, Canada... While his series "Blissfull Buddha", "Moving Forward" and "Street Story" enjoyed great success abroad at a very young age, and won numerous awards, he noted that Myanmar was still lagging behind in terms of art. In 2010, he acquired a property on the outskirts of Yangon to participate in the development of art in Myanmar, which became his major preoccupation. In 2012, he opened a free school, the Bamboo School, which teaches art, as well as IT and English, to local children, and offers artists' residencies. He created two art galleries where his creations and those of many other artists he wishes to promote are exhibited. He now lives in Thailand with his family, so that he can continue to paint and show his creations.
