This large sculpture (215 cm high, 40 cm wide) is based on the qualities and specificity of the trunk. Originally, this column is interwoven with another column sculpted to complement it, and grows out of the veins and knots in the trunk that Marc Nucera will study, understand and follow in his chainsaw work. Its elegance delights us and its patina seduces us. It is presented by Retour De Voyage on a steel base.

For the past 30 years, Marc Nucera has been training in his studio garden in Noves near Avignon to acquire “formulas of gesture”.  “He wields his tools with unrivalled virtuosity, blending delicacy and determination. The drapes, pleats, twists and volutes conceived by this exceptional tailor of shapes and matter, inert or living, play with light and shadow, giving the impression of liquidity and smoothness. But if Marc Nucera says he's exhausted at the end of his work, it's because of his creation, because of the forces transmitted by the material that took hold of him and inspired him, that he's as if emptied.

What Retour De Voyage loves about Marc Nucera is this osmosis with the tree, this love of wood and its softness, its scent, the way it captures the warmth of light. “The tree is the power of life”.
