The Éditions du Renard Pâle have selected 29 photographs by Hans Silvester to create a remarkable artist’s book: A wonderful and original work of art, produced in only 30 copies, each numbered and signed.

Iconic images by Hans, taken in Japan in 1968, paired with timeless haikus, all brought together in a design as sumptuous as it is ingenious. Before your eyes, an original photograph displayed in a black American-style frame with a flawless finish. Behind this frame, once removed from the wall, a discreet little hatch reveals a magical bookbinding: one side opens onto the Japanese version, the other onto the French. It all feels quite unique — and indeed it is! Both versions are interwoven over the same images, creating enchanting tabs. Add to this the authentic seals crafted by Japanese masters and texts calligraphed by another great master, and you are immersed in an exceptional universe of instinctive poetry, beyond all words.
