"Pétanque, provençal game" is an album book entirely designed by the photographer reporter Hans Silvester, from which he has carefully selected each photo.

It was in the 1960s that Hans Silvester arrived in Provence where he discovered the importance of pétanque in the villages of the Luberon. More than just a game, pétanque is a meeting place. The most experienced players are captured by the sharp eye of Hans Silvester who knows how to freeze these suspended moments. The less expert, on the other hand, gather as spectators and transform this simple game into an unmissable meeting place. 

Each photograph has been carefully selected by the artist, and each page is printed in photo quality to further enhance them. In a limited edition, "Pétanque, provençal game" is the second part of the collection of Hans Silvester's greatest hits after "Cats in the sun".

This album book transports us to the Provencal villages and the customs of a bygone era that Hans Silvester has managed to magnify.
