“La Pétanque, jeu provençal” is a photographic book conceived and published by Hans Silvester. After arriving in Provence in the 1960s, he captured pétanque as a true social ritual—marked by concentration, precise gestures, and moments of shared experience.

Each photograph, carefully selected by the artist from his archives, conveys the atmosphere of Provençal villages and a way of life now partly lost. Printed in photographic quality and published as a limited edition, this book offers a sensitive and timeless testimony to Provence.
