Like Japanese calligraphy, the perfection of the circle made into a lamp. Illumination, fullness, the whole, the nothing.
Enzo Catellani spent part of his life in Japan, where this curious man drew the inspiration for this lamp. He discovered and practised calligraphy there. He mastered the meticulous gestures required to create this perfect circle, and the idea came to him to create a three-dimensional lamp based on this gesture. Initially, the circle is drawn in a single movement using a bamboo brush dipped in ink, and it is this perfect dynamic that is reflected in this lamp, which gives off a powerful light that can be adjusted using its dimmer switch.
Ensô is a Zen symbol meaning, among other things, strength and elegance, two strong words that perfectly characterise the Ensô lamp.
The lamp has been praised by juries and has won several awards:
Archiproducts Design Awards 2023 - winner
Light Middle East Awards 2024 - Decorative Lighting Product of the Year
LIT Lighting Design Awards 2024 - Honourable Mention
Good Design Awards 2024 - winner
